COVID-19 and Children

Published on May 11, 2020

We are pleased to share another, brief, report submitted by epidemiologist Dr. Sarah Zaidi exclusively for SGH Macro Advisors titled “COVID-19 and Children”.

This piece was researched and written in response to the announcement this weekend by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo of the deaths of three children from inflammatory complications and COVID-19, and of 73 cases of children with symptoms resembling “Kawasaki disease.” In addition to potential implications on the opening of schools and day care facilities, the data points behind COVID-19 and children, and these admittedly still rare occurrences, may also be of personal interest to clients with children or grandchildren.

As with the other COVID pieces, we remind you that this report was not generated internally by SGH Macro Advisors, but represents best efforts by Dr. Zaidi to collect, analyze, and provide information on this very important topic to our clients. SGH has not edited the contents of the report except for flow and style, the report is provided for informational value only, and it does not in any way constitute investment advice.
