COVID-19: Interrupting Transmission Chains

Published on March 17, 2020

We are pleased to share with you the latest report produced by Dr. Sarah Zaidi for SGH Macro Advisors on the COVID-19 pandemic — this one titled “Interrupting Transmission Chains.”

We urge you to read the full report, but with an eye to sharing her thoughts on one of the questions front and foremost on all our minds, we have taken the liberty of highlighting one of the paragraphs from the report below:

It’s not known how long social distancing measures need to last, but evidence from China suggests at least 60 days, and even then, extreme vigilance is required to ensure that COVID-19 does not surge back. However, social distancing measures have massive societal and economic costs that will eventually need to be considered against the goal of minimizing mortality.

As in the previous COVID reports, SGH has not produced the content of this report, and any edits made have been for flow purposes alone. The report is for informational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice.
